Multiple Chemical Sensitivity & Genetics

Millions of people all over the world, including small children, have developed Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) upon exposure to toxic chemicals in the environment. Due to the incessantly growing number of the worldwide general population stricken by MCS upon exposure to toxic chemicals, MCS has become one of the most serious and overlooked  public health problem  in the world.  But what causes this terrible hypersensitivity to chemicals and other substances in the environment for millions of people of any race, gender, age, and national origin?

What, in your opinion, is the greatest health threat to humans right now?

The research that I do keeps coming up with chemical toxins that cause genetic mutations.

How to Kill Pests Without Killing Yourself or the Earth

There are about 50 to 60 million insect species on earth - we have named only about 1 million and there are only about 1 thousand pest species - already over 50% of these thousand pests are already resistant to our volatile, dangerous, synthetic pesticide POISONS. We accidentally lose about 25,000 to 100,000 species of insects, plants and animals every year due to "man's footprint".

Cologne Causes Acute Toxicity

A study at Anderson Laboratories in Vermont concluded that fragrance chemicals caused a variety of acute toxicities in mice after an hour long exposure to breathing five commercial colognes.  The researchers discovered "the emissions of these fragrance products caused various combinations of sensory irritation, pulmonary irritation, decreases in expiratory airflow velocity, as well as alterations of the functional observational battery indicative of neurotoxicity."

Scientific Studies:  Non-Immune Contact Reactions

One of the frequent misunderstandings about multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) is confusing it with an allergic response due to IgE (immunoglobulin E).  MCS is not an allergic reaction.  Rather, it appears to be a reaction to the toxic properties of the incitants due to a damaged detoxification system.  Thus far, science is still searching for the existence of biomarkers to diagnose the condition.

Odor Processing in MCS

Researchers at the Department of Public Health Sciences, Division of Occupational Medicine, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden just published a study in March entitled Odor processing in multiple chemical sensitivity (Hillert et al, 2007).  The researchers set out to determine whether subjects with MCS could have an increased odor-signal response in the odor-processing neuronal circuits.

Healing Modalities:  Massage

Massage involves the application of  pressure and motion through touch to the soft tissues of the body, including lymphatic to achieve a beneficial response.  While many enjoy massage as a simple means of relaxation, it is also touted to increase lymphatic drainage and increase blood flow, bringing oxygen and nutrients into the tissues.   Massage has also been shown to improve autistic behavior, relieve anxiety and depression, increase healing after surgery, improve growth in premature infants, increase attention and focus, reduce muscle tension, and reduce blood pressure.

Legal Persecution—Part 3

In review… after a brief consult with an infectious disease doctor who did not conduct any tests, my son and I were diagnosed by her alone, with a shared psychotic disorder she remembered from medical school.  Despite the blood work results, scans, and cultures given to her with our initial paperwork, she belittled the doctors we had seen and their diagnoses, interrogated my son regarding my so-called mood swings, and called our medical history “crap”.

Sal’s Place

I recently read a news article entitled “Prominent Psychiatrist Forced to Finally Concede that Psychiatric Diagnoses are Not Based on Science”.  My first thought was AMEN to that!  Then the topic began to bug me.  I began to think that we can't call MCS "science" because there is no clinical test and it's diagnosed based on subjective observation and patient reported symptoms.  However, psychiatric disorders (or otherwise "normal behavior" in  most cases) are called "science" yet there are no clinical tests and diagnosis is based on subjective observation and patient reported symptoms.
